I think the first news reports that claimed the virus came from
The labs in Wuhan and not the wet market were in Australian and Asian news reports not the US intelligence community. Again I think a video produced by the Wuhan lab showing Wuhan scientists out collecting bat viruses is a pretty interesting fact, particularly when combined with with other sources showing the covid-19 virus bats being at least 100 miles from the wet market. Not sure what a bat sells for, but it seems unlikely they would transported that far to be included in a soup. Now it may make sense scientists were willing to travel that far to collect bat virus samples. China’s real issue isn’t that they were collecting bat viruses, it is they appear to have covered up the origination of the virus, created a grand narrative around the wet market and also very likely understated the viruses impact on their own country and failed to take containment efforts quickly. I am not claiming they acted in malice though there are many opinions that they did.
